The popular CW superhero drama, Arrow, delivers its action-packed fifth season onto Netflix. This is the perfect time for new viewers and longtime fans to binge-watch Stephen Amell as the DC Comics superhero and Emily Bett Rickards as his quirky companion, Felicity Smoak.
In the fifth season, the newly appointed Mayor Oliver Queen (Amell) finds himself fighting for the future of Star City. With Diggle (David Ramsey) back in the military and Thea (Willa Holland) hanging up her hood as Speedy, the Green Arrow needs more teammates. The public defeat of Damien Darhk has inspired a new crop of masked vigilantes and a new super-villain to take his place. Unfortunately for Oliver, this means he will have to confront questions about his own legacy, both as mayor and as the Green Arrow.
5. Back From The Dead
Season 4 was a complete mess, even though there were a few episodes that were deemed watchable. Rickards is much better as the comic relief than the romantic interest. After its weakest season, Arrow came back strong and went back to the grittiness of the action. With a new addition of charismatic characters, the serialized drama revitalized itself once again.
4. Black Siren
One of the biggest mistakes of Season 4 was the death of Laurel Lance aka Black Canary. Thank goodness the writers quickly fixed that mistake and brought back Katie Cassidy into the fold. No matter what, you do not get rid of a fantastic talent such as her!
3. The 100th Episode
Arrow celebrated its 100th episode milestone this season. Not only did the episode have to serve the 4-part Invasion crossover with Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and The Flash, the show also marked the occasion to reunite familiar fan-favorite faces.
2. Prometheus
Just like the other CW shows, The Flash and Riverdale, part of the fifth season revolved around a mystery. Who is Prometheus, the criminal mastermind who always seems to be a few steps ahead of Oliver? While binge-watching the entire season, it’ll be interesting to see how the planted clues lead up to the revelation.
1. That Ending!
The fifth season finale ended with a major cliffhanger that shocked many fans. I can’t wait to see what the show creators have planned for the upcoming sixth season!
Season 5 of Arrow arrives on Netflix Thursday, June 1st.
