‘Suits’ Season 7 [Episode 3 Recap: Mudmare]

USA Network continues Season 7 with Episode 3: Mudmare of their popular lawyer drama, Suits. Back in their fan-favorite roles for the seventh season, Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht return as slick lawyers Mike Ross and Harvey Specter.

Though their relationship is heating up, Harvey Specter (Macht) is starting to have problems with his former therapist, Dr. Paula Agard (Christina Cole). While Mike Ross (Adams) takes on his next pro bono case, Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) takes the advice of his therapist, Dr. Lipschitz (Ray Proscia) and attempts to make up with Alex Williams (Dulé Hill). At first, Alex and Louis make plans to have lunch together.

Alex though has to cancel his lunch date with Louis to work on Harvey’s case. Louis becomes incredibly jealous as he sees Harvey and Alex laugh together. As Mike handles his pro bono case, he discovers there is a conspiracy going on inside a prison. An inmates supposed death could possibly be murder committed by the guards.

Unfortunately, Mike’s pro bono case conflicts with one of Alex’s clients. Before Alex’s client ends their relationship with their firm, Harvey wants Mike to drop the case  immediately. Arguing this is a shakedown, Mike asks for Louis’ help.

Louis argues with Harvey, who mentions their discussion is really about jealousy. Harvey takes a jab at Louis by revealing their private conversation.

Donna Paulson (Sarah Rafferty) and Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle) are having problems of their own with their associate. The Associate refuses to do the work that Rachel hands over to her. Donna and Rachel debate whether or not they can control the situation.

Standing up for Rachel, Donna tears down the associate in public. Rachel though argues Donna was undermining her authority in front of the other associates. The pair end up hurting each other’s feelings, calling out their weaknesses.

After Mike hands off the pro bono case to another firm, Harvey wants him to write an apology letter to Alex. Mike and Alex finally meet under difficult circumstances. After Alex reveals he was also chewed out, Mike welcomes him to the firm.

Elsewhere, Louis is still heart-broken and takes out his anger on his therapist. Rachel apologies and recognizes she doesn’t want to be in charge; she wants to be a good lawyer. Donna realizes she should be head of the associates and fires the trouble-making associate.

Paula reveals to Harvey that she’s scared of being hurt; so is he. They agree to be scared together in their relationship.

Suits continues on USA Network Wednesdays at 9pm.
