Showtime Networks, CBS Home Entertainment, and Paramount Home Media Distribution have teamed up to release the Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series Blu-ray and DVD. Old friends and new faces made their way back into writer/director David Lynch’s continuation of his critically acclaimed ABC series.
As we previously mentioned, FBI Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) traveled to the small logging town of Twin Peaks. In a town where everyone is hiding a secret, Cooper attempted to solve the murder of seemingly innocent high schooler Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee). In the second season finale, Cooper found himself sinking deep into the supernatural mysteries of Twin Peaks, possessed by the demonic killer known as Bob.
SPOILERS AHEAD! Here are 5 reasons why you should get Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series on Blu-ray and DVD:
5) I Can’t Explain That Ending!!!
In Part 18, Dale Cooper doesn’t know if he went too far into the past, or too late into the future!Sheryl Lee shows up to scream as Laura Palmer! The episode finally answered the question if Dale Cooper does or doesn’t work for the FBI as he shows his badge for the first time. It was like watching the start to a fourth season, but I don’t know if we’re getting one!
4) The Return of Dale Cooper!
It was a long wait, but the third to last episode, when Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) finally shows up, that was really satisfying! It’s also the same episode where Audrey Horne (Sherilyn Fenn) wakes up from her coma too. I also liked how Dale looks at Janey-E Jones (Naomi Watts) like he’s been missing a son and wife all this time.
3) The Only Happy Ending
After her talk with Dr. Jacoby (Russ Tamblyn), Nadine Hurley (Wendy Robie) meets with Big Ed Hurley (Everett McGill) and tells him he should be with Norma (Peggy Lipton). After Ed says that he’s free, Shelly (Mädchen Amick) tears up as she sees Norma and Ed back together! I’m not crying, you’re crying!
2) The Music!
As much as I liked seeing the new cast, there was nothing like watching James Hurley (James Marshall) performing “Just You” to a packed crowd at The Roadhouse. James sings the love song he wrote for Laura Palmer.
