DC Universe continues the highly anticipated third season of Young Justice, with the latest installment of Outsiders, in Episode 9: Home Fires, starring the voices of Jesse McCartney and Khary Payton. The superhero team is caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy.
Parents are gathering at a daycare center, getting to know each other while their kids play along. At the same time, Lois Lane arrives with her baby son, Jonathan. The joyful reunion continues as none of them realize they are being watched.
Ocean Master has been videotaping the daycare center, waiting for the right moment to strike. Just as he is about to strike, Lady Shiva arrives and chops his head off. The daycare center is safe for now, with no one realizing how the children almost came close to danger.
Elsewhere, Lobo has been contracted for his next hit. While Dr. Jace pays a visit to an angry Halo and rebellious Geo-Force, she stumbles upon Rightwing’s training session. Halo manages to block rubber bullets with her shield but Geo-Force fails completely. The training exercise was to see how they would act under pressure, during a surprise attack.
All of sudden, Lobo comes crashing in and fights them. Nightwing, Black Lightning, and Tigress attempt to stop Lobo, who is under contract to kill Forager. With the flying motorcycle shooting at the team, Lobo uses his hook and chain to kill Halo.
Forager manages to fake his death by using his shell as decoy. Lobo thinks he’s killing Forager as he destroys the shell. Standing naked and gooey, Forager thanks his newfound friends for fighting to save him. Nightwing explains he’s one of them.
Meanwhile, the Legion of Doom has gathered together. Lobo has failed his mission but that doesn’t matter. The Legion, which includes members of Deathstroke, Lady Shiva, and Lex Luthor, have discovered who are the players responsible for raiding their meta-trafficking ring.
Granny Goodness, from Apokolips, steps forward and reveals she has been leading the Legion of Doom.
