A terrifying new chapter begins, Gideon Falls #7 (Image Comics) delivers the bone-chilling scares that will drive readers wild! The creative team behind Old Man Logan and Green Arrow continue their dark and surreal mediation of mental illness and faith with such intense mediation.
After the mind-blowing events of the first arc, Norton digs deeper into the mystery of the Black Barn, and secrets of his past begin to come to light. Meanwhile, Father Fred does some digging of his own and learns the hard way that some secrets should just stay buried.
Here are 5 reasons why you should pick up Gideon Falls #7:
5) What Happened Before!
First, we have a reclusive young man obsessed with a conspiracy in the city’s trash. Then we have a washed-up Catholic priest arriving in a small town full of dark secrets. Now their lives will become intertwined around the mysterious legend of The Black Barn.
4) The Writing!
Writer Jeff Lemire keeps the plot moving with a strong spotlight on Norton Sinclair. I think he is becoming a more interesting character. His paranoia has driven him mentally unhinged but his true destiny is fighting back.
3) The Artwork!
Andrea Sorrentino’s artwork in Gideon Falls is nothing less than spectacular. I loved how the heavy inks capture the detail on Angie’s emotional closeup across three panels. I love the last page of this installment; which is quite jaw-droppingly cinematic
3) The Colors!
Colorist Dave Stewart uses a tone red to highlight certain characters. The red box automatically tells your eyes to immediately focus on this character It’s a clever way to point the eye in this direction.
