A fantastic follow-up, Livewire #2 (Valiant Entertainment) delivers bare-knocked action within a memorable and fast-paced installment. After delivering an electrifying premise, Livewire continues the series with an interesting lead protagonist.
When the super-powered psiot codenamed Livewire plunged the entire country into a nationwide power outage, she made more than a few enemies – and now she’s about to meet them face to face! But these mysterious foes aren’t simply interested in bringing her to justice…no, they have other far more nefarious plans for the most wanted woman in the world…
Here are 5 reasons why you should get Livewire #2:
5) What Happened Before!
After choosing the few over the many, Amanda McKee must now outrun the government she served – and those she once called allies. With the whole world hunting her, what kind of hero will Livewire be…or will she be one at all?
4) The Writing!
Writer Vita Ayala does an amazing job capturing the emotional ride of a reluctant heroine, during her weakest moments. Ayala wonderfully balances the suspense and doubts that Livewire feels while trapped in her cage. Letterer Saida Temofonte focuses on the hardness and cold-hearted words beating into Amanda’s ears.
3) The Artwork!
I love how artists Raúl Allén and Patricia Martín make you feel their one-two punch with their fantastic illustrations. They really make you, the reader, feel like you’re in the middle of the brawl. Readers are definitely going to love what happens during the climax!
2) The Colors!
Notice how the color palette switches when Livewire finds herself trapped inside a single room. Inside the room, the lighting turns bright red. Outside the room, the color changes to a cold and faded gray tone.
1) A Great Read!
A fantastic second installment, Livewire #2 delivers a jaw-dropping action sequence! Livewire continues to capture the self-reflection of a superhero and the rousing sci-fi adventure.
