At San Diego Comic-Con 2018, FX released the official trailer for Mayans M.C., the next chapter in the critically acclaimed Sons of Anarchy saga. Creators Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, and the crest of the cast and crew, are getting their motor running as they head out on the highway.
As we previously mentioned, Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes (JD Pardo) is fresh out of prison and a prospect in the Mayans M.C. charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Now, EZ must carve out his new identity in a town where he was once the golden boy with the American Dream in his grasp.
Here are 5 reasons we love the Mayans M.C. official trailer:
5) Marcus Álvarez!
Emilio Rivera is back as Marcus Alvarez in the Sons of Anarchy sequel. I got a hearty laugh when I saw Marcus (Rivera) not taking it easy with Reyes, who’s a Prospect. As a prospective member, Reyes has to deal with hazing and undesirable tasks, in order to get his respect.
4) The Old Life!
Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes ( JD Pardo) is still reliving the past even after being sent to prison. Like in every tragedy, there’s a girl that got away. The high school sweetheart still wants to know what happen to him, what changed him.
3) Edward James Olmos!
Edward James Olmos will be playing the role of Felipe Reyes, Ez’s father. In their scene, EZ admits being out in the real world is tough on the released convict. Felipe appears to have a past of his own, with that sawed-off shotgun in his hands.
2) Love This Song!
I hope I’m not the only one enjoying cover version of “Paint It Black” by Los Salvajes!
1)The Ensemble Cast!
According to Deadline, Sutter describes the cast, “Quite selfishly, the energy of those men and women who know that they should be somewhere else and have been given the opportunity for a second chance, you can’t bottle that.” He adds, “It’s magic on set. Everyone’s there to do the work.”
Mayans M.C. will premiere on September 4th, 2018 on FX.
