After announcing the premiere date at WonderCon 2019, AMC has released the official teaser from their highly anticipated supernatural drama, NOS4A2, starring Ashleigh Cummings and Zachary Quinto. Based on the bestselling novel by Joe Hill, the AMC drama will premiere with the fifth season of Fear The Walking Dead on the very same night.
Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) is a gifted young woman who discovers she has a supernatural ability to find lost things. This ability puts her on a collision course with the evil and immortal Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto). Manx is a supernatural villain who feeds off the souls of children then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – a twisted place of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law.
Here are 5 reasons we love the official teaser from NOS4A2:
5) Fozen!
The clip previews the upcoming battle between Vic McQueen (Cummings) and Charlie Manx (Quinto). Just like in the book, Vic is on her motorbike when she crosses the dilapidated bridge. The bike ride takes her from the summer to a winter wonderland. Never has a candy cane been so damn scary!
4) Makeup!
Just as the title hints at, Manx is a different kind of vampire, who feeds off the souls of his victims. There are many different versions of Manx throughout the narrative. We see Manx is his old state, with the last strands of white hair about to fall off.
3) The Wraith!
As we previously mentioned, Zachary Quinto explained his character’s relationship with his car, The Wraith. Charlie is an extension of The Wraith and The Wraith is an extension of Charlie. The footage ends with the headlights of The Wraith being turned on and the roar of the engine.
2) Silence!
Interestingly, there is absolutely no dialogue in the clip. This is all just atmospheric tension. Ashleigh Cummings really has to drive the suspense with her facial expressions.
1) The Supporting Cast!
The ensemble includes Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Bing Partridge, Virginia Kull as Linda McQueen, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Chris McQueen and Jahkara Smith (aka Sailor J) as Maggie Leigh.
NOS4A2 will premiere back-to-back with Fear The Walking Dead on Sunday, June 2 starting at 9:00pm.
