CM Punk Rabid, Rabid

With Back 40 Pictures behind the remake, new photos of actress Laura Vandervoort have been revealed from the upcoming horror film, Rabid. Comparing these images to the original David Cronenberg’s 1977 classic horror film, the Soska Sisters have seamlessly brought together body horror and the glamorous world of high fashion.

As we previously mentioned, Rose (Vandervoort) is a young woman who suffers a disfigurement after an accident. This leads her to a radical and untested stem-cell treatment. While turning Rose into the belle of the ball, the experimental transformation also comes with a deadly price.

Here are 5 reasons we’re excited for Rabid:

5) Taking A Swim!

In the original, Rose (Marilyn Chambers) appears to be getting into a pool, with another scantily clad woman. (Get it, Girl!) Now in the remake, it’s a bigger pool and now CM Punk is going to show up as Billy. (Get it, Girl!)

4) She’s On The Floor!

As a metaphor for addiction, Rose (Chambers) is in agony on the floor, because she hasn’t feed herself. As we mentioned before, we saw an image of Rose (Vandervoort) looking really sad as she sits on the floor of her fancy apartment. Same apartment, same metaphor Rose is on the floor and in agony as she becomes more and more of a junkie.

3) Queen!

In the original, Rose (Marilyn Chambers) walks across the street, wearing a fur coat. Notice the poster of Carrie behind her. In the remake, we see Rose (Vandervoort) doing her own boss queen walk! In the middle of the night, she appears to be walking by herself, wearing a fur jacket.

2) The Victim!

In the original, Rose (Chambers) appears to be getting hassled by the sleazy guy sitting behind her in the theater. The sleazy guy’s staring at her breasts, right? Now Rose (Vandervoort) is putting the moves on CM Punk and biting into his wrist. (Get it, Girl!)

1) Release Date?

According to Bloody-Disgusting, Amazon UK lists March 25, 2019, as the Blu-ray release date for Jen and Sylvia Soska‘s remake.

Back 40 Pictures will handle the theatrical distribution duties. We anxiously await to hear news of the release date of Rabid.
