After announcing the official premiere date, USA Network has released the new key art for Season 8 of the popular lawyer drama, Suits, starring Gabriel Macht and Katherine Heigl. With Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) leaving the firm, is lawyer Harvey Specter (Macht) ready to get back and take on an new court case?
During the seventh season finale, Mike (Adams) and Rachel (Meghan Markle) had their long overdue wedding before leaving the firm. Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) saved the day and became the firm’s new partner, alongside Specter and Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman). Elsewhere, Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) has set foot in Chicago to reunite with her long-lost family, while taking on a crooked politician and a shady real estate developer.
Here are 5 reasons why we love the key art for Suits Season 8:
5) Get To Know Samantha!
As we previously mentioned, Samantha Wheeler is described as a fierce and enigmatic lawyer. Donna (Sarah Rafferty) has always prided herself on her ability to read people, but this time around, she can’t quite put her finger on Wheeler. Samantha wants to be named partner and she’s counting down from three!
4) Three For Two!
With the departure of Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle, Heigl and Amanda Schull’s Katrina Bennett are picking up the empty slots. As one of Suits’ longest recurring fan favorites, Schull has been promoted to a series regular for the eighth season. In addition, Dulé Hill aka Alex Williams has also been promoted as series regular.
3) The Poker Game!
According to Deadline, the Suits ensemble are playing an all-in game of poker. The smokey and dark lighting reminds me of “Dogs Playing Poker,” by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge.
2) Who Has The Winning Hand!
Everybody in the poker game acts like their character. Harvey is ready swipe up the Da Vinci poker chips even though he hasn’t shown his winning hand. Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) appears to be cheating while looking at Katrina’s cards. Donna is just having fun and Samantha just wants to drink.
1) The Better Poker Player!
Macht stated to Entertainment Tonight, “As you’ll see in the first couple of episodes, they go head to head. They’re truly adversarial, but they sometimes mirror each other in their actions and their manipulative ways to accomplish what they need. There’s something charming about that and exciting. We’ll see who’s the better the poker player, who can kick more people in the knees.”
Suits will return for the Season 8 premiere on July 18, 2018.
