Cosmoknights, Top Shelf

Always entertaining and engaging from the first page, readers will be wowed by the colorful and eye-popping Cosmoknights (Top Shelf Productions). Written, drawn, and colored by Hannah Templer, the sci-fi story and the incredible visuals are combined into one remarkable reading experience.

Pan’s life used to be very small. Work in her dad’s body shop, sneak out with her friend Tara to go dancing, and watch the skies for freighter ships. It didn’t even matter that Tara was a princess… until one day it very much did matter, and Pan had to say goodbye forever. Years later, when a charismatic pair of off-world gladiators show up on her doorstep, she finds that life may not be as small as she thought. On the run and off the galactic grid, Pan discovers the astonishing secrets of her Neo-medieval world… and the intoxicating possibility of burning it all down.

Here are 5 reasons why you should read Cosmoknights:

5) The World-Building!

Cosmoknights

Cosmoknights captures an entire world that is reminiscent of our society and still full of imagination. The galactic narrative takes itself to another level when the mech-suited warriors are introduced. The overall timely theme is about liberating yourself when the patriarchy has constantly slashed your dreams short.

4) The Writing!

With an ensemble cast of diverse and relatable characters, Templer pours so much heart and personality into their dialogue. Templer crafts an inspiring coming-of-age tale for Pan as she feels stuck in mediocrity and yearns for adventure. The lettering emphasizes how characters feel trapped, especially being forced to hide their true selves from society.

3) The Artwork!

The Neo-medieval world feels grounded from history and pushed further for the sci-fi aspects. The adrenaline-fueled jousts are the most exciting pages in the graphic novel. I just loved how Templer illustrated the giant robots pummeling each other!

2) The Colors!

The colorful tones wonderfully remind me of the animated ’80s cartoons. Notice how the Rudis club is draped in bright red tones. There’s always white streak on Cass’ face to mark her scar.

1) Space Adventure!

Cosmoknights delivers an entertaining space adventure that carries tons of heart and action. It’s an epic adventure that I want to be part of and want to see more of.

Cosmoknights arrives in stores on October 23rd, 2019.
