Trapped Devil Blu-Ray, DVD

Scream Factory and IFC Midnight deliver the intensely scary thrill ride, I Trapped The Devil, starring Scott Poythress, AJ Bowen, and Susan Burke, onto DVD and Blu-ray. In his  remarkable debut, writer/director Josh Lobo captures the blurry thin line between madness and sanity in his claustrophobic thriller.

Christmas is supposed to be a time for peace and joyful family reunions. But when Matt (AJ Bowen) and his wife Karen (Susan Burke) show up unannounced at the home of his estranged brother Steve (Scott Poythress) to celebrate the holidays, they are instead greeted with a horrifying surprise: trapped in the basement is a man. But not just any man. Steve believes that his hostage is none other than the devil himself. As shock and skepticism turn to fear and paranoia, Matt and Karen find themselves facing a terrifying quandary: is Steve dangerously unhinged? Or could the mysterious stranger really be evil incarnate?

Here are 5 reasons why you should get I Trapped The Devil on Blu-ray:

5) Susan Burke!

An impressively charismatic presence, Susan Burke pulls off the tricky role of Matt’s loyal and conflicted wife, Karen. While being an observant bystander, Karen (Buke) starts to become intrigued by Steve’s bizarre paranoia. This is an amazing performance that truly defines Burke’s talents!

4) Scott Poythress!

Simply captivating to watch, Scott Poythress has a tricky role to play. As Steve, Scott has to be a sympathetic protagonist and the creepy antagonist at the same time. At times, you feel sorry for the character but then, you’re also creeped out by him.

3) It’s So Stylish!

The camera wonderfully captures three knockout performances, led by the superb AJ Bowen. Cinematographer Bryce Holden shoots the one single setting to create the moody and tense atmosphere on camera. I love the red lighting in the basement, which serves as a foreshadowing symbolism of Hell.

2) A Must-Own Horror Flick!

Writer/director Josh Lobo is clearly interested in creating a claustrophobia and suspenseful mood. Anxiety, paranoia, and indecisiveness are all at play in the horror flick. Each nail-biting scene is held up superbly by its incredible ensemble.
