A pulse-pounding installment, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #95 (IDW Publishing) delivers slick moments of intense peril and nonstop action. As “City at War” continues with a shocking twist, the TMNT series teases the popular franchise with an upcoming battle between good and evil.
“City at War,” Part 3. The Turtles race against time to save one of their own, but beset by obstacles on all sides—including the Earth Protection Force and the tide of approaching battle between two warring ninja clans—will they be too late?
Here are 5 reasons why you should get Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #95:
5) What Happened Before!
#TMNT #95 #CityAtWar Part 3 hits stores on 7/3! One last heads up from Yours Truly — you’re gonna wanna get a first printing copy of this one. This is an issue I’ve wanted to write since I started working on #TMNT years ago. A HUGE milestone moment. Don’t miss it. @IDWPublishing pic.twitter.com/CiZ5xw3Iyb

Karai makes a surprising decision as Splinter questions his leadership within the Foot Clan. Breaking off alliances with everyone, Karai drove her blade straight into Jennika. Wanting payback for Slash’s death, Raphael breaks off with his brothers to join the Mutanimals to attack Null.
4) The Writing!
From a story by Kevin Eastman and Bobby Curnow, writer Tom Waltz keeps the action moving along cleverly in real time. With Jennika’s heartbeat fading, the Turtles are woking tirelessly to save her life, even while they are being attacked. With Jennifka’s life on the line, Shawn Lee’s lettering emphasizes the camaraderie between Leonardo and Donatello as they argue over medicine and strategy.
3) The Artwork!
Artist Dave Wachter illustrates the teamwork amongst the Turtles as their enemies attack their base. Wachter understands that the action takes place from the character’s personality. Notice when the events turn suddenly dire, Michelangelo is the only one who is capable of improvising from Leonardo’s plans.
2) The Colors!
Notice how colorist Ronda Pattison turns an entire panel to yellow, when the explosion strikes. This is telling you, the reader, that exposition is over; now’s when the clock starts ticking. Pattison does this again and turns an entire panel to green when another explosion takes place.
1) A Gripping Read!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #95 captures the race against the clock, leading up to a shocking cliffhanger. The “City at War” takes a major turn as we start heading towards the #100 issue milestone.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #95 arrives in stores on July 3rd, 2019.
