DC Universe Swamp Thing Teaser, DC Universe Swamp Thing Reveal, Swamp Thing Premiere Date, DC Universe

After announcing the premiere date at WonderCon 2019, DC UNIVERSE has unveiled a pretty big teaser of their upcoming horror drama, Swamp Thing, starring Crystal Reed, Derek Mears and Andy Bean. The DC Comics superhero monster, created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson, joins DC Universe’s original live-action lineup, which includesTitans and Doom Patrol.

Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed) investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana, only to soon discover that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets.

Here are 5 reasons we love Swamp Thing teaser:

5) Swamp Thing!

Andy Bean will be playing scientist Alec Holland and Derek Mears will be playing the defender of The Green, Swamp Thing Will Swamp Thing be more existential like in Alan Moore and Stephen R. Bissette’s run? Or will Swamp Thing be the reluctant hero like in Scott Snyder and Yanick Paquette’s run? The answer is…yes!?!

4) Blue Devil!

Best known for his role as Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills 90210, Ian Ziering pops up in the footage. The Sharknado actor will play Hollywood has-been Daniel Cassidy, a.k.a. the Blue Devil. That’s the Blue Devil mask seen in the crate!

3) New Sheriff In Town!

Jennifer Beals will be seen on the DC Universe drama as Sheriff Lucilia Cable. It looks like Sheriff Cable (Beals) is in the swamp investigating a crime scene. Is she trying to capture the Professor Pyg-looking psycho with an axe?

3) Crystal Reed!

At the end of the teaser, Crystal Reed drops into the murky waters as Abby Arcane. Abby (Reed) looks around like she knows something’s behind her. Why is Swamp thing crawling towards her!?!

1) It’s scary!

I have know idea why Virginia Madsen, aka Maria Sunderland, is screaming at the camera. The undead thing waking up in morgue gave me the shivers! This horror show has been brought to you by James Wan (Saw) and Len Wiseman, who directed Underwold: Blood Wars!

Swamp Thing will premiere on the DC Universe May 31, 2019.
