A Perfect Host, Uncork'd

Three Hair Production, Uncork’d Entertainment, and One Chameleon Entertainment present the terrifying pulse-pounder, A Perfect Host, starring Brady Burleson Johnson and Katelyn Marie Marshall. Also known as Adonis Complex, director Chad Werner captures the claustrophobic atmosphere of a suspenseful thrill ride.

Four friends rent an isolated lake house for a weekend getaway. While the dramas of the friends’ relationships unfold, they are continually interrupted by the home’s owner: a health-obsessed bodybuilder named Tad. Throughout the group’s short stay, Tad’s seemingly affable gestures take an eerie and sinister twist, turning their dream vacation into a nightmare. Mystery entangles this tale that questions the blind acceptance of modern-day practices.

5) Katelyn Marie Marshall!

A Perfect Host

With a sweet and charming personality, Katelyn Marie Marshall is immensely engaging in every scene as Avery. As the tension builds and the suspense unfolds, Avery (Marshall) becomes stronger and develops her own feisty attitude. It’s an interesting character arc to watch as Avery (Marshall) slowly realizes there is something wrong with the home owner.

4) Brady Burleson Johnson!

A solid presence throughout the film, Brady Burleson Johnson captures the manipulative charm and the deceptive allure of his psychotic character, Tad. Friendly at first, Tad (Johnson) slowly unveils the frightening aspects of his unhinged personality. Johnson kicks off another layer of suspense when Tad unleashes his terrifying wrath.

3) The Music!

The music by Jeff McQuitty really hits all the right notes as the scenes turn from an endearing romantic comedy to a twisted thriller. The creepy tracks by McQuitty nail the uneasy and claustrophobic vibe of the house itself.

2) The Direction!

The story by Emily Hiott and Chad Werner makes great use of its easygoing and relatable characters. The cinematography by Brooks Birdsall has a grounded and realistic look, especially when the shadows engulf the backgrounds during nighttime. Director Chad Werner captures the tension when Tad shows up and holds onto it right until the final shot.

1) A Solid Thriller!

With knockout performances from two fine leads, A Perfect Host is a solid and enjoyable thriller to watch. Horror fans will definitely have fun with this one.
