Little Women, Official Trailer

Sony Pictures presents the official trailer to the highly anticipated costume drama, Little Women, starring Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, and Emma Watson. Director Greta Gerwig’s follow-up to Lady Bird is a fresh and modern spin on the Louisa May Alcott classic novel.

Following the lives of four sisters, Amy, Jo, Beth and Meg, as they come of age in America in the aftermath of the Civil War. Though all very different from each other, the March sisters stand by each other through difficult and changing times.

Here are 5 reasons why we love the official trailer to Little Women:

5) Saoirse Ronan!

Actress Saoirse Ronan leads the all-star cast and reunites with her Lady Bird director. Jo March (Ronan) is working on a novel about her life and her sisters. Notice when her publisher says to make her book “spicy,” he means make it sexy.

4)  Emma Watson!

Meg, the eldest of the March sisters, is played by Emma Watson (Beauty and the Beast) . Though she doesn’t want to leave home, Meg (Watson) years to be an actress. Meg’s dreams are different than Jo’s, but that doesn’t mean they’re not important.

3) Florence Pugh!

Florence Pugh has earned rave reviews for her breakout performance in the horror flick, Midsommar. One knockout performance deserves another I bet. In Fighting with My Family, Pugh gave a heartfelt and amusing performance in the life story of former wrestler Paige (Saraya-Jade Bevis).

2) Meryl Streep!

Practically stealing every scene in the trailer, Meryl Streep plays the wealthy Aunt March. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gewig reveals that Streep, “loved the book so much when she was a girl, and she thinks [it’s] so important.”

1) Must-See Holiday Movie!

Greta Gerwig definitely has her eye on the period piece, with the fanciful costumes, and the entire cast sparks chemistry in the wide shots. Everything about this movies, from its director to its dreamy cast, spells out Oscar worthy.

Little Women arrives in theaters on December 25th, 2019.
