FX presents the spine-chilling official trailer for the gore-iffic Season 7 of the upcoming Ryan Murphy drama, American Horror Story: Cult. The horror anthology drama, created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, brings together an A-list talent talent featuring Sarah Paulson (The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story), Billie Lourd (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) & Emma Roberts (Scream Queens).

According to Entertainment Weekly, Cult will be more more grounded, with a muted color palette and have a relatively normal setting in suburban Michigan. This story arc won’t have any supernatural elements. Twisty, the deranged murderous clown, will also be showing up this seventh season.

Check out our 5 thoughts on American Horror Story: Cult, Season 7’s Official Trailer here:

5) Trump Paranoia!

The Nip/Tuck creator isn’t holding back on social commentary as the setting takes place after the recent election. Sarah Paulson’s character, Ally Mayfair-Richards, suffers from a mental breakdown, much like many, after the devastating announcement. In front of everyone, she just bursts out screaming, “No!”

4) Cult Leaders!

Continuing on with Murphy’s provocative social commentary, we don’t have a president in the White House, we have a cult leader. In a quick montage, Evan Peters makes his presence known as the blue-haired Kai, who dry-humps the television set. To be honest, I never thought I’d write a sentence like that!

3) Fear of Clowns!

Stephen King commented on society’s inert fear of clowns in his novel, It. Ivy Mayfair-Richards (Alison Pill) has to stay sane and strong for Ally, who can’t shake her clown paranoia. But is their love driving each other insane!

2) Winter is Coming!

Winter Anderson (Lourd) appears to be one Kai’s followers, who appears to follow his every word. Winter is definitely setting up trouble for Mayfair-Richards, targeting their son. After showing off her comedic chops in Scream Queens, I’m very excited to see what Lourd does as the show goes over-the-top!

1) Better Than Coven?

My personal favorite season of American Horror Story is Coven. The third season had the right amount of horror and dark comedy. Plus Jessica Lange is dearly missed because of her powerhouse performances. Crossing fingers that Cult will match up!

American Horror Story: Cult will premiere on FX September 5th.
