The Beauty of Horror 2: Ghouliana’s Creepatorium – Another GOREgeous Coloring Book (IDW Publishing) is insanely beautiful and creepy to look at. Because sequels are always meant to be bigger and better, Life of Agony bassist and comic book creator Alan Robert delivers a new volume of original drawings for his horror-themed adult coloring book.
As we previously mentioned, the follow-up to last year’s #1 best-selling coloring book promises to include even more macabre art. In the official description, “everyone’s favorite undead girl Ghouliana mischievously attempts to trick budding colorists into unleashing her deadly spell. Try and find the missing ingredients she’s sprinkled throughout Robert’s intricate pen and ink illustrations before it’s too late!”

As the comic book creator behind Killogy and Crawl To Me, Robert has so much imagination that his dark delights fill up every page. There is so much detail within the original black and white illustrations. I love how the cover is actually a decorated sleeve!
4) It Starts With A Poem!
Like a story within a story, the rock star/comics creator explains the return of undead girl, Ghouliana. Robert provides a short poem in the opening pages that feels memorably lyrical. The rhyming scheme eases the reader into the macabre.

Amon the many images, two of them really strike out to me because of my love for movies, especially by director Stanley Kubrick. The first image plays something out of The Shining because of the twin sisters standing in the middle of the hallway. The other image reminds me of the red robed men stalking the halls in Eyes Wide Shut.
2) I Need Part Three!
Ghouliana teases in her closing chapter, “I swear on my corpse, I will return for Book Three.” I really want this adult color book to be success because I can’t wait to see what Robert has in store for a trilogy!
