With an exciting installment that contains tons of crazy twists and action, NBC continues Blindspot Season 3 with Episode 12: Two Legendary Chums. Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) and Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) are back together solving the cases behind the mystery tattoos.
While Kurt and Patterson (Ashley Johnson) are in the process of interrogating Avery (Kristina Reyes), Tasha (Audrey Esparza) and Reade (Rob Brown) argue over what’s their next move. As Jane deals with her daughter being under nonstop surveillance, Tasha thinks it’s time to revisit a past enemy. Patterson (Ashley Johnson)’s mystery tattoo leads Kurt to an unexpected reunion with his former partner/mentor, Donald Shipley (Darren Goldstein).
Out in the middle of nowhere, Kurt stumbles upon an undercover operation. After abandoning the FBI, Shipley is now working for Homeland. Kurt has to play along and be part of the weapons trade that Shipley has been working on. Back at FBI headquarters, no one in the room is thrilled to hear Reade when he says this is a joint FBI/Homeland sting mission.
Not only is Jane giving him a hard time, Kurt has to learn everything about EMP from Patterson. The deal only works if The Regimen actually believe Kurt is an EMP expert. Elsewhere in the desert, Roman (Luke Mitchell) and Victor (Anthony Lemke) are working together on a major deal for Hank Crawford (David Morse).
Meanwhile, Tasha visits FBI Director Eleanor Hirst (Mary Stuart Masterson) at a hi-tech prison facility. In order to get answers, Tasha has to drug Eleanor and play torturous mind-games with her. Though Tasha has all the info she wants, Eleanor promises Hank won’t go easy on her.
The Regimen fools Kurt into thinking they were planning to break into a nuclear plant. After saving the hostages, Kurt and Shipley make a run for it into the woods. The two are outnumbered and outgunned as the Regimen chases after them.
The power plant was never the real target. Reade figures out the main target was always the Treasury Department’s secret bunker. Because the bunker monitors international financial transactions, Hank’s attack plan was meant to keep his deal hidden. In the nick of time, Jane is able to save Kurt’s life and prevent the bunker from going down.
Because his deal went sour, Hank betrays Victor and shoots him in the head. This entire time, Roman has been framing Victor, setting him up as an FBI snitch. Hank has no choice now but to confide in Roman.
At first, Avery wants nothing to do with her mother. Though she shouldn’t, Jane reveals she and the FBI are working together to build the evidence against Hank Crawford. Breaking down her hard exterior, Avery wants to be there when Jane brings down the man who murdered her father.
Back at Kurt’s apartment, Jane tells him she wants to forgive him. Now that Roman is Hank’s right-hand man, his first order is to hunt down and kill Jane, Kurt, and the rest of the FBI team.
Returning March 2nd, Blindspot continues Fridays at 8m on NBC
