Events take an unexpected turn as NBC continues the action-packed Season 4 drama of Blindspot with Episode 11: Careless Whisper starring Jaimie Alexander and Sullivan Stapleton. After the shocking events of Season 3, will Kurt Weller (Stapleton) solve the mystery tattoos before its too late for Jane Doe (Alexander)?
When we last left them off, Zapata (Audrey Esparza) reveled to Reade (Rob Brown) that she was working undercover. During her meeting point, Zapata was suddenly kidnapped by the CIA. During this time, a true crime novelist is murdered at his home.
While Jane is boxing in the exercise room, Patterson (Ashley Johnson) gives her a smartwatch to check up on her ZIP poisoning. Rich Dotcom (Ennis Esmer) joins the team as they investigate a murder mystery. The team discovers they are all characters inside Kurt’s favorite author.
In the novelist’s manuscript, Jane has been using her psychic abilities to solve crime. With the Ripper on the loose, Kurt is close to a major meltdown. Get this, Rich has been cheating on his wife and having an affair with Patterson. Rich and Patterson realize there is a snitch in the FBI, who has been giving intel to the author.
Meanwhile, Zapata is rescued by Madeline’s henchman, who knocks out the CIA agents. Heading back to the meeting point, Zapata finds a ringing cell phone on the floor. After getting orders, Zapata realizes her cover hasn’t been blown so far.
Reade discovers junior agent, Brianna, is the snitch. Tired of filing and handing out paycheck, Brianna let loose and told the author personal stuff about the team off the record. Brianna then reveals the Ripper was based on a real-life person and the writer ultimately found out who she really is.
Jane starts to lose he vision when the real Ripper starts covering her tacks. Held hostage at a cabin, Jane sends a message in morse code though Patterson’s watch. Kurt and the team race against the clock to find Jane’s location as she goes up against the Ripper.
Though Jane ends the fight, Ripper still manages to cut her up. At the hospital, Jane reveals she has turned blind and is on the verge of losing her hearing. Jane is now heading towards the final stages of he ZIP poisoning.
When asked why Zapata wasn’t n the book, Reade learns from Brianna that there was no way her character was going to get a happy ending.
