The founder of Dark Planet Comics, Stephan Franck, is launching a Kickstarter campaign to fund the highly anticipated Silver Volume 3. In the thrilling third installment, a ragtag group of con men attempt to pull off their deadliest heist ever and rob Europe’s wealthiest vampire, Dracula.

In Volume 3, the con is now in full swing. Master thief James Finnigan and his uniquely talented band of grifters are now deep undercover. As secrets and agendas emerge, characters are suddenly pushed past their breaking points. With great talent comes a heavy price, Finnigan struggles to keep his band of misfits on track.

Here are 5 reasons why we’re excited for Silver Volume 3!

5) Silver Has Everything You Crave For!

Franck tells Villain Media exclusively, “Silver is an original story that takes place inside the world of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, forty years after the events of the novel. So we’re now in the Pulp era of the 1930s and we follow the adventures of James Finnigan—the most notorious conman / heist master of his day—and his gang of known-associates, as they team up with Rosalynd “Sledge: Van Helsing (Professor Van Helsing’s grand daughter). Together, they attempt to steal The Silver Dragon, a mythical treasure hidden in Dracula’s castle. Silver is a great fun supernatural pulp adventure; it’s full of action, mystery, suspense, and world-building of the first magnitude. And it’s also a character piece with earnest and raw emotion, as well as a light, almost screwball comedy-esque sense of humor.”

4) Support This Project, Get The Rewards!

The comic book creator discusses crowdfunding the project, “Silver is produced in complete creative independence, and published by Dark Planet Comics. Of course, creative independence can only exists with financial independence, and for a micro publisher without corporate overlords, Kickstarter is a key piece of the equation. Each volume’s original run was crowdfunded, and the most exciting thing about that, is that creators and backers work together to shape their cultural reality! It’s a work of passion all around, and that’s all kinds of awesome.”

3) He Worked On Iron Giant!

Franck was the supervising animator onThe Iron Giant. Yes, that animated film with the voices of a then-unknown Vin Diesel (Fate of the Furious) and Harry Connick Jr. (Independence Day)!  His animation reel continues as the key story contributor to Despicable Me. The Corneil & Bernie co-creator is also Head of Story for the PLAYMOBIL Movie for Lionsgate. Say no more, you had me at Iron Giant!

2) The Best Reward Ever!

Not only do the Kickstarter rewards include physical copies and original artwork, I definitely want one of those awesome Silver-themed phone covers!
