Showtime continues Twin Peaks: The Return with the newest airing of Episode 9. In the ninth episode, original stars, Kyle MacLachlan and Mädchen Amick, reunite along with new faces in the continuation of David Lynch’s mystery/crime drama.

After being resurrected from the dead, Evil Dale heads out to his rendezvous with Gary ‘Hutch’ Hutchens (Tim Roth) and Chantal (Jennifer Jason Leigh). After locking lips with Chantal, Evil Dale orders Hutch to kill the prison warden. Evil Dale then calls the casino manager and yells when he hears Dougie is still alive.

Elsewhere, Dale Cooper is still living Dougie’s and pretending to be Janey-E (Naomi Watts)’s husband. The Fusco detectives learn Dougie had a car accident years ago but never fully recovered. After getting Dougie’s fingerprints, the Fusco detectives manager to find Ike ‘The Spike’ Stadtler (Christophe Zajac-Denek) at a nearby hotel and arrest him.

Meanwhile, FBI agent Albert Rosenfeld (Miguel Ferrer) and Diane (Laura Dern) are on a place to their next destination, Agent Tammy Preston (Chrysta Bell) gets the call and warns Deputy Director Gordon Cole (Lynch)’s office that Evil Dale has escaped from custody. Not only is the FBI investigating Evil Dale’s escape, they have to solve the sudden reappearance of Major Brigg’s corpse.

The FBI agents interrogate William Hastings (Matthew Illard), who was having secret meetings with Major Briggs. Drowning in tears, William recounts his final moments with the Major, telling a story about alternate dimensions. Everyone else listens to his erratic confessions, but Albert thinks William is just a “fruitcake.” All of a sudden, Diane gets a mysterious text from Evil Dale.

Back at Twin Peaks, Jerry Horne (David Patrick Kelly) is still lost in the woods, high out of his mind. While Andy (Harry Goaz) and Lucy (Kimmy Robertson) argue, Deputy Chief Tommy ‘Hawk’ Hill (Michael Horse) and Sheriff Frank Truman (Robert Forster) meet the mother of Deputy Bobby Briggs (Dana Ashbrook). She repeats the last words of her husband, Major Briggs, who somehow predicted the future.

Major Briggs had a secret item that only his son could open. Bobby discovers his father was hiding secret codes and a map to a childhood location. Bobby has to be at the location in a few days and continue the investigation there.

Just when Beverly Paige (Ashley Judd) is about to intimate with her boss, Benjamin Horne (Richard Beymer) gently and politely turns her down. At the Roadhouse, Au Revoir Simone performs  “A Violent Yet Flammable World.”
