USA Network continues Season 8 of the popular lawyer drama, Suits, starring Gabriel Macht and Katherine Heigl, with Episode 12: Whale Hunt. Now that Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) has left the firm, is lawyer Harvey Specter (Macht) ready to get back in the game and take on new court cases?
Since we last left them, Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) is still trying to work things out as Managing Partner. Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) notices how Harvey keeps lying to Louis because a client doesn’t want to work with them. Unfortunately, these two are having trouble getting along now that Louis is the boss.
Elsewhere, Harvey and Louis are trying to hash things out while attempting to sway in a new client. The client has already heard Harvey doesn’t exactly follow the rules. Louis gets involved but ends up playing in a poker match for charity against the client and Harvey.
While Katrina (Amanda Schull) is working with Brian on a project, Samantha (Heigl) and Alex (Duel Hill) end up woking on the same case. As a legal favor to Alex’s wife, Samantha thinks Rosalie should accept the $15,000 settlement, which is a win for her.
Meanwhile, Donna ends up going on a date with Thomas Kessler (Sasha Roiz). Samantha and Alex find themselves against each other as Rosalie gets her husband involved. Louis ends up losing his deal with the client because Harvey wouldn’t stay away from the poker match.
Things get so bad that Gretchen (Aloma Wright) has to get involved. Gretchen calls out Harvey on the bull-crap that he’s been playing. Harvey has to learn and accept that Harvey is his boss now.
With his baby sick, Katrina has to continue work at Brian’s place. Katrina ends up holding Brian’s baby in her arms. With the baby between, Katrina and Brian share a longing look at each other and almost kiss. Their awkwardness towards each other ends up costing them in the courtroom.
While Donna is having fun during her date with Thomas, Katrina is in tears. Brian noticed how she just up and left after the disastrous deposition; she’s not okay. Brian can’t be her associate anymore; it’s not one’s fault Katrina says.
As Donna ends up shaking up with Thomas after their date, Harvey and Louis end up making peace while drinking protein shakes together.
Suits continues Wednesdays at 10pm on USA Network.
