USA Network presents the Season 8 finale of the popular lawyer drama, Suits, starring Gabriel Macht and Katherine Heigl, with Episode 16: Harvey. Now that Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) has left the firm, is lawyer Harvey Specter (Macht) ready to get back in the game and take on new court cases?
Since we last left them, Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) discovered Thomas Kessler (Sasha Roiz) and Donna (Sarah Rafferty) were in a relationship. Donna had to decide between Thomas and Harvey when she discovered privileged information. While Donna and Harvey ended up arguing, Daniel Hardman (David Costabile) showed up to make matters worse.
Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) was reminiscing how he found Samantha (Heigel) in the hospital. After being mugged and brutally beaten, Samantha refused to let her attacker win. She wasn’t going to be victim again. They two went out of they way outside the law to send her mugger to prison.
Meanwhile, Hardman reveals what he actually wants from Harvey. As payback, he wants to remove Harvey’s license and strip his name off the building. Harvey eventually goes to Thomas to convince him to life, but he won’t budge.
Robert convinces Samantha to approach his previous partners. The plan is to put Hardman’s name on the building of his previous firm. Unfortunately, Samantha isn’t able to make a deal because Robert’s former partners are planning to backstab him.
With an ethics hearing set, Harvey knows he will lose his license. Donna helplessly watches as Harvey is so furious; he throws a a glass cup at the wall. Samantha has a plan to help Harvey but it would mean destroying Donna’s professional career.
Pleading one more time with Thomas, Harvey asks him to lie for Donna. Thomas wonders what Harvey means to her; what she means to him. Unfortunately, Donna isn’t able to give an answer to him.
In the past, Robert kept a terrible secret from Samantha. They did send her mugger to prison but he was murdered in his jail cell. His death has haunted Robert since then and he carried the burden; which is why he needs Alex (Dule Hill)’s help.
At the ethics hearing, Robert and Alex conceive of a major plan, which frees Harvey from culpability. Hardman now realizes he’s taking the license away from his friend, Robert. Robert reveals to Samantha that his retirement is a way to unburden himself.
While Samantha wonders what she will do without her mentor, Harvey races over to Donna’s apartment. Harvey and Donna have their hands all over each other, stripping their clothes off, as they passionately make love.
