Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have released the third trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming starring Tom Holland and Michael Keaton. The wall-crawling superhero juggles getting straight As in school, while training to become the newest member of the Avengers.
As we previously mentioned, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns to normalcy as a high school student after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Peter heads back to his home in New York, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei). His superhero identity is kept secret under the watchful eye of his new mentor, Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Emerging as a new villain, The Vulture (Michael Keaton) threatens everything Peter holds dear.
Here are 5 random thoughts about the third trailer of Spider-Man: Homecoming:
1. The Soundtrack!

You can hear Hoodie Allen’s “Act My Age” song as the footage starts to roll. But as a Lost fan, I’d rather hear what composer Michael Giacchino is contributing to the score!
4. That Childish Gambino Cameo!
Before Donald Glover won the well-deserved awards for FX drama, Atlanta, he was auditioning on the internet for the role of a Black Spider-Man. Because of strong word of mouth, Glover eventually landed the role of Miles Morales in Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. I’m glad director Jon Watts respects the history and gave the Community actor a part in his movie.
3. Is That Ganke Lee? That Has To Be Ganke Lee?
In the comics, Ganke Lee is the best friend of Miles Morales, the the half-black, half-Latino Spider-Man. I actually thought characters from the comic were making their way on-screen. Nope, I was way off because Jacob Batalon is actually playing Ned Leeds, Parker’s BFF.
2. Whose Movie Is This!?!
Is this the origin story of Spider-Man or is this actually Iron Man 4? Civil War didn’t feel like a Captain America sequel but more like fan service. That’s the feeling I’m getting every time I see Robert Downey Jr. and his scene-stealing performance. Is this a Spider-Man & iron Man movie?
1. I’m Rooting For The Bad Guy!
Don’t show me anything else with Michael Keaton in it! I’m hooked. It’s not Batman fighting Spider-Man, it’s Oscar-nominated Michael Keaton beating up some punk kid named Tom Holland.
Spider-Man: Homecoming arrives in theaters on July 7th, 2017.
