A undeniable force to be reckoned with, Amber Heard is unbelievably hypnotic in the first trailer for her upcoming crime thriller, London Fields. Based on the novel by author Martin Amis, a clairvoyant fortune teller may have stumbled upon her own murder.
Clairvoyant femme fatale Nicola Six (Heard) has been living with a dark premonition of her impending death by murder. She begins a tangled love affair with three uniquely different men: one of whom she knows will be her murderer.
Here are 5 reasons why we love Amber Heard in the London Fields trailer:
5) She Is The Queen!
The Justice League actress is playing an intriguing character who has to be an alluring seductress, the femme fatale, the hustler, and the virgin in bed. Notice how this is what the men in the film see her. Check out the fancy wardrobe as Nicola Six wears sultry white and fierce black outfits.
4) The Ensemble Cast!
While Heard is basically chewing up the scenery from everybody else, Billy Bob Thornton, Jim Sturgess, Theo James, and Cara Delevingne hold their own in their supporting roles. Who among them wants to kill Nicola Six on her 35th birthday?
3) She’s In A Murder Mystery!
The potential suspects include Samson Young (Billy Bob Thornton), a failed novelist seeking inspiration, Keith Talent (Jim Sturgess) a charming womanizer on the run from loan-sharks, and Guy Clinch (Theo James), a sophisticated and aristocratic businessman. One of them may end up as her murderer!
2) Best Clapback Ever!
Looking right into her face, Guy Clinch (James) threatens to kill her. Nicola doesn’t even bat an eye as she responds back, “Shall we say 8?” Even in death, she’s in control!
1) Now We’re Here!
According to Vulture, Martin Amis wrote the novel in 1989, but the book’s path to the big screen faced a few obstacles. Directors like David Cronenberg and Michael Winterbottom took cracks on the adaptation. After directing music videos, such as Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse,” Mathew Cullen was able to kickoff the project into production.
London Fields is set for an August release date.
