Since the first issue, we discovered out this new drug that everybody is talking about is made from humans! The ashes that the users are inhaling are from the dead. Even the cook who makes the drugs has to work extra hard to get the material!
4) The Writing!
Writer Cullen Bunn examines the drug trade through the dealers and the junkies. Bunn builds up the relationship between Leo and Wade before their intense shootout. Letterer Ed Dukeshire subtly switches the font between Brigitte’s reality and her hallucinations about Lucien.
3) The Artwork!
In the opening pages, artist Jonas Scharf does a great job portraying the effects of the drug through Grace. Notice how frail Grace is because she’s almost skinny like a stick. You can even spot the droopiness under her eyes in closeups.
2) The Colors!
Colorist Alex Gumaraes does a great job giving each scene its own vivid palette. Grace’s scenes are all covered under a purple-pinkish tone. Leo and Wade’s are draped under a blue tone, with spots of red.
1) Horror & Crime!
A thrilling read right from the start, Bone Parish #3 kicks up the story another notch! A gripping read, I’m definitely coming back for the next issue!
