An action-packed nostalgic revival from Top Cow, Cyber Force #6 (Image Comics) transforms the popular Marc Silvestri comic with the return of my favorite character. A jumping point for new readers, this issue of Cyber Force continues as an origin story.

Stryker vs. Ripclaw! To balance the chaos of the blackout, Stryker needs a team and wants Ripclaw on it…but Ripclaw has his own battle to fight and won’t let Morgan Stryker stand in his way.

Here are 5 reasons why you should get Cyber Force #6:

5) What Happened Before…

In the first installment, in order to save her father’s life, Carin signs on the dotted line of a twisted Faustian deal. The advanced technology rescues Stryker from death, but also changes the Aphrodite Project. After Stryker, Aphrodite, and Velocity suffered a major blowback from a deadly adversary from the future, they may find an unlikely ally in the jungle.

4) Ripclaw’s Back!

Writers Matt Hawkins and Bryan Hill continue with the return of Ripclaw, my favorite character from the original series. Thanks to Troy Peteri’s lettering, we find out why Ripclaw is protecting his small village. Now that we understand his motivations, it’s a major reason why Ripclaw and Stryker will never see eye-to-eye.

3) The Artwork!

Artist Atilio Rojo does a fantastic job with the fierce battle between Stryker and Ripclaw. Ripclaw is more of a brawler and improvises his movies during the battle. More of a soldier, Stryker is on the tactical side as he butts heads with Ripclaw.

2) The Colors!

I love the green hues that emphasize the jungle setting. The light is coming from the trees in the background.

1) A Fun Read!

Overall, Cyber Force #6 feels fresh and energetic, thanks to the return of my favorite character, in the techno-thriller comic. I can’t wait to see how Ripclaw in the next issue of Cyber Force!
