A phenomenal thriller, Bone Parish #4 (BOOM! Studios) continues with a captivating plot that cleverly blends crime with the supernatural! With a great eye for its luscious setting, this supernatural crime story delivers a riveting ensemble of interesting characters.
Following a devastating loss at the hands of the cartel, the Winters family is in turmoil. To defeat their foes, they might have to break the cardinal rule of dealing: never get high on your own supply…
We have 5 reasons why you should get Bone Parish #4:
5) What Happened Before!
Since the first issue, we discovered out this new drug that everybody is talking about is made from humans! The ashes that the users are inhaling come from the dead. Even the cook who makes the drugs has to work extra hard to get the material!
4) The Writing!
With a fascination into crime and procedural, writer Cullen Bunn spotlights the drug trade through the dealers, the cops, and the junkies. In the opening pages, Bunn imagines the aftermath, what happens to the addicts hooked on the drugs. Letterer Ed Dukeshire subtly hints at the suspense as the Winters family strikes back.
3) The Artwork!
In the opening pages, notice the small details from artist Jonas Scharf inside Grace’s hallucinations. We, as readers, know that Andre is dead; he’s a hallucination. Scharf’s illustrates the facial expressions and the eyes weirdly; showing readers that he doesn’t exist. It’s almost as if Andre has no eyes when he’s talking.
2) The Colors!
Colorist Alex Gumaraes grounds the atmosphere with a green and blue palette. Notice how the crime elements in the narrative are draped in a green tone. The colors then take on a flashy and surreal dreamscape when the drug is inhaled.
1) Horror & Crime!
Surreal nightmare or somber reality, Alex always nails it! https://t.co/4BE8EQUmaH
