Close to its tenth anniversary, after arriving at festivals nearly a decade ago, HorrorPack will release the limited edition Dead Hooker In a Trunk Blu-Ray. With brand new cover art and bonus features, check out the grindhouse flick that became the calling card for a pair of striving and ambitious Canadian filmmakers.
Four friends are sent off to an everyday errand and end up in a fight for their lives. After discovering the body of a dead hooker in their trunk, the sexy Badass, her distant twin sister Geek, the bible-thumping Goody Two Shoes, and their rock star pal Junkie must put aside their differences to dispose of the body. As they face off against the police, a sleazy motel manager, chainsaw-wielding triads, a brutal serial killer, and a mysterious Cowboy Pimp all want to claim the corpse as their own.

Taking the industry by storm, Jen and Sylvia Soska, wrote, directed and produced this explosive ride. Who needs a plot when your feature is filled with gunfights, extreme violence, blood, guts, gore, and goats? The Soska Sisters describe their directorial debut, ”This film is a miracle. With so much crazy happenings going on, don’t expect things to calm down all of a sudden. The low-budget filmmaking puts our directors ahead of the curve. With an anything-goes sensibility, the Soska sisters have such a hard-edge and sexy style.

The Soska sisters delivered a solid debut, leading up to their ambitious second picture, American Mary. They obviously have something to say in their short segment for ABCs of Death; so I’m looking forward to their upcoming future projects.
