After airing its two-hour Season 7 finale, USA Network teases Katherine Heigl’s upcoming arrival in Season 8 of the popular lawyer drama, Suits, co-starring Gabriel Macht. With Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) leaving the firm, is lawyer Harvey Specter (Macht) ready to get back and take on an new court case?
During the seventh season finale, Mike (Adams) and Rachel (Meghan Markle) had their long overdue wedding before leaving the firm. Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) saved the day and became the firm’s new partner, alongside Specter and Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman). Elsewhere, Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) has set foot in Chicago to reunite with her long-lost family, while taking on a crooked politician and a shady real estate developer.

5) Unleash Those Claws!
Heigl is certainly making her presence known in the footage. Showing off her feisty attitude, she shuts up Alex (Dule Hill) right on the spot. Taking on the patriarchy, Samantha Wheeler wants to be known by her female name, not by a masculine nickname, “Sam.”
4) Not A Love Interest!
Harvey is kinda heart-broken after his relationship with Dr. Paula Agard (Christina Cole) ended. So don’t expect Harvey hooking up with Samantha anytime soon. Samantha (Hiegl) wants to named partner and gives Harvey a deadline.
3) She’s Got An Office!
On her official Instagram account, Heigl posted a selfie inside her new office. The Suits actress states, “Being a boss! #SamanthaWheeler has a badass office that I am thoroughly enjoying pretending is mine! #suitsusa #girlswithgumption #anythingyoucandoicandobetter”
2) There Will Be Friction!
I can imagine Samantha Wheeler being the anti-hero of the show now. Louis (Hoffman) has matured as Harvey’s friend and developed outside the office, wanting to become a father. Filling in that role, Samantha’s gonna butt heads with everybody!
1) A Brand New Dynamic!
Suits Showrunner Aaron Korsh tells Deadline, “The addition of Robert Zane and the dynamics that that does for all of our existing characters I feel like gives new life to the show. Along with him, Katherine Heigl and the interaction she’s going to have with everyone in the firm, the two of them coming into our world, it just creates a brand new dynamic that is both organic to the show and really reinvigorating for me as a writer and as a fan of my own show.
Suits will return for Season 8 in July.
