Plot #2, Vault

From Vault Comics’ Nightfall line, The Plot #2 is a noteworthy followup that absorbs the reader with its unnerving horror and gut-wrenching family drama. A fresh twist on the haunted house genre, The Plot explores dark family secrets and dysfunctional reunions.

Secrets fester in the Blaine family-and in their home. Chase uncovers a piece of history best left hidden, while Mackenzie explores the fraught past between her uncle and Reese.

Here are 5 reasons why you should read The Plot #2:

5) What Happened Before!

Chase Blaine was never close to his estranged brother and sister-in-law. Murder brings the rest of the family together when Chase becomes the legal guardian to McKenzie and Zach. While moving into his abandoned ancestral home, Chase struggles to connect with his niece and nephew.

4) The Writing!

Before the horror strikes, writers Tim Daniel and Michael Moreci examine Chase’s struggle with parenthood. An everyday ordeal grounded in reality, Chase has to make sandwiches for the kids before they go to school. Letterer Jim Campbell spotlights the social commentary of the time period during the classroom setting.

3) The Artwork!

The artwork by Joshua Hixon captures a creepy vibe from the haunted setting. Hixon is able to craft suspense by teasing just enough of the ghost designs. Notice how McKenzie stands out from her classmates with her yellow striped shirt, highlighting her loneliness.

2) The Colors!

Colorist Jordan Boyd has put together a vivid palette that enriches the primary tones. The surreal green and blue tones are a neat throwback to ‘80s horror movies. The mix of black and gray shades add to the decrepit look of the ghosts.

1) A Phenomenal Read!

Horror fans will absolutely devour every page of The Plot #2. I am so hooked with The Plot series that I cannot wait for the third installment!

The Plot #2 arrives in stores on October 28th, 2019
