Book Monsters, Book Monsters Trailer, Dread

Epic Pictures and DREAD pump up the action and gore in the must-see trailer to Book of Monsters, starring Lyndsey Craine and Lizzie Stanton. Turning 18 years-old takes a turn for the worst when monsters come crashing in at the party.

Sophie (Lyndsey Craine)’s 18th birthday becomes a bloodbath when monsters descend upon her house, devouring the guests and killing anyone who tries to leave. To survive the night, Sophie must face her destiny: monsters are real and she’s the only one who can stop them.

Here are 5 reasons why we’re excited for Book of Monsters:

5) The Trailer!

As you can tell with the tailer, the horror and humor really work together as the teen party gone amok turns into a major bloodbath. I can’t wait to see how these party guests get devoured! Notice how the creatures and gore are done with old-school practical effects.

4) It’s Inspiring!

From a script written by Paul Butler, director Stewart Sparke mentions how horror fans are in for a bloody treat,  “The love and support we have received from the horror community to get this film made was absolutely inspiring and since it premiered at FrightFest last year, we’ve been incredibly lucky to see the film play at horror festivals around the world,”

3) It’s Getting A Wider Audience!

Book of Monsters

Explaining how the horror flick began life as a Kickstarter campaign, where backers chose the monsters and kills, Sparke adds, “I’ve got to extend a huge thank you to all of our amazing Kickstarter backers for making the film possible in the first place and now to Dread for bringing the film to a much wider audience!”

2) 7 Awards!

A smash hit in the film festival circuit, Book of Monsters picked up 7 awards, including “Best Film” and “Best Special FX,” at the recent New York City Horror Film Festival.

1) The Ensemble Cast!

Book of Monsters

The ensemble cast includes Nicholas Vince, Anna Dawson, Steph Mossman, and Michaela Longden. In the role of Jonas,  you may remember Nicholas Vince as Chatterer in Clive Barker’s Hellraiser and sequel, Hellbound: Hellaiser II.
