Possessor: Uncut, Possessor

Neon delivers the pulse-pounding psychological thriller, Possessor: Uncut, starring Andrea Riseborough and Christopher Abbott, which will leave audiences breathless. Writer/director Brandon Cronenberg will provoke audiences’ attention with the puzzling question: Are we ever in control of our own body?

Using brain-implant technology, Tasya Vos (Andrea Riseborough) takes control of other people’s bodies to execute high profile targets. While sinking  deeper into her latest assignment, Vos becomes trapped inside someone else’s mind. Now it is threatening to obliterate her.

Here are 5 reasons why we love Possessor: Uncut:

5. Andrea Riseborough

As Tasya Vos, Andrea Riseborough delivers an amazing performance as a world-weary and downtrodden assassin. At her breaking point, Tasya is so disaffected and disgruntled by her status. The demands of her latest task are steering Tasya towards a mental and physical breakdown.

4. Christopher Abbott

Christopher Abbott is quite engaging to watch as Colin Tate. Remember, Vos becomes trapped inside someone else’s mind. Abbot has to play someone who is wearing another person’s skin; a visual metaphor for a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Abbot has the tricky job of playing Collin and an individual pretending to be Colin.

3. Tuppence Middleton

As Ava Parse, Tuppence Middleton stars in her own romantic movie gone horribly wrong. Ava knows something feels odd in her relationship with Colin (Abbot). She’s trying to fix what might be wrong, but it’s not really about her.

2. The Direction!

Interestingly enough, writer/director Brandon Cronenberg doesn’t want to get bogged down with explaining how the futuristic technology works. Cronenberg is more interested in the flaws of advancement. I personally think Cronenberg has put together a fresh spin on the undercover cop trope, where the cop is in too deep with his cover story.

1. Mind-blowing Visuals!

Audiences will be entranced by the mind-blowing visuals and graphic violence of the sci-fi thriller, Possessor: Uncut. By the end, this movie really makes me want to pay close attention to what Brandon Cronenberg does next.

Possessor: Uncut arrives in select theaters and drive-ins on October 2nd, 2020.
