Full of witty dialogue and fun wrestling action, WWE  #18 (BOOM! Studios) gazes deep into the bromance between two popular wrestlers as they struggle to keep their friendship alive behind-the-scenes. Writer Dennis Hopeless delivers a hilarious buddy comedy starring Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Looking at bromance culture, Hopeless asks what it means to be a competitor and and an ally, especially when toxicity is in the air. Notice how Jim Campbell’s lettering hints that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are essentially manipulating each other to achieve glory.

Artists Serg Acuña makes sure readers understand the bromance is at stake as Owns and Zayn share each panel together. They are both equals in the panel, sharing the chemistry. Heightened by Doug Garbark’s colors,the vivid illustrations are live with spotlights, as if they are always on stage and in concert.
