ABC invites audiences to their world of magic in the crime drama, Deception, starring Jack Cutmore-Scott and Ilfenesh Hadera, with Episode 1: Pilot. Get ready to fight crime and learn a few magic tricks alongside magician Cameron Black (Scott) and FBI agent Kay Daniels (Hadera).

After the police place him in handcuffs, Cameron has to give up the truth behind his magic stunts; he has a twin brother. Jonathan (Scott) was involved in a deadly car crash, which left an innocent woman dead. Claiming his innocence, Jonathan says the dead woman was not the mysterious femme fatale (Stephanie Corneliussen) he got in the car with.

With his brother framed for vehicular manslaughter, Cameron dedicates a year of his life to prove his innocence but falls nowhere. That is until he sees the crime scene on television. Just hours before, FBI agent Kay Daniels (Hadera) was transporting known criminal Felix Ruiz (Elliot Villar).

After the plane lands, FBI agents Kay Daniels and Mike Alvarez (Amaury Nolasco) find themselves under attack. As the smoke builds, the plane explodes. Showing up at the crime scene, Cameron reveals the plane didn’t explode, it was just moved from the runway.

Cameron believes the illusionist who framed his brother sent him a message. In search of Felix, Cameron follows Kay to a truck site. While Cameron fools around and plays knife tricks, Kay manages to interrogate an eyewitness.

With a new lead, the two end up at a hideout where the crooked FBI agents have stashed the private plane away. Daniels and Black end up in the crossfire against Felix’s henchmen. Daniels manages to save Black’s life and shoots down one of the henchmen.

Outnumbered against the FBI, Cameron realizes he needs the help of his magic team. Jordan (Justin Chon), Dina (Lenora Crichlow), and Gunter (Vinnie Jones) are all in need of money after Cameron stopped his magic shows. If they help the FBI, Cameron promises them money and a chance to save Jonathan.

Cameron shows up in disguise as Felix’s lawyer at FBI headquarters. Daniels has an idea and uses Cameron’s disguise to confuse one of the henchmen. If Felix’s lawyer squeals, then so should his henchmen.

Now knowing where Felix will be, Cameron has the start of a plan but he needs his brother’s help. Jonathan and Cameron argue over personal matters before getting right down to business. Following Jonathan’s advice, Cameron swamps himself with the Felix’s real lawyer in an undercover sting op.

With Felix in the van, Cameron is blindfolded as he starts driving. He cleverly forces Felix to take them to the trap where the FBI and Daniels are waiting. Felix gives up the illusionist, the woman with different-colored eyes, before Daniels arrests him.
