Joining the ensemble cast of Justice League, actress Amber Heard shows her true superhuman strength in the December issue of GQ Australia. Heard has been deemed worthy of the title, Woman of the Year, due to her advocacy for women’s equality.

Out in theaters now, Justice League follows the recruitment of a reluctant team against a newly awakened enemy. The formation of an unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash — is about to take place. But it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Here are 5 reasons we love Amber Heard Being named GQ Australia’s Woman of the Year:

5) She’s Her Own Superhero!

The Ward scream queen makes a must-see appearance in the blockbuster, Justice League. More than just Aquaman’s wife, Mera (Heard) is not only a queen,; she is a fierce warrior. The DC Comics super-heroine will be starring in her own upcoming series.

4) She’s An Advocate For Women’s Equality!

According to E! Online, the Aquaman starlet states, “No matter how unpopular or untenable my decisions were, it was never tempting enough to live dishonestly.”

3) She’s Not Afraid To Be Herself!

Heard said to GQ Australia, “I remember ten years ago I went to hold my girlfriend’s hand and I was told that was a death sentence in Hollywood. Ten years late the whole plane was clapping. It bought a tear to my eye -I feel very honoured and humbled”

2) December Is Our Favorite Month!

The Zombieland actress appears on its December cover, alongside Ansel Elgort, Flume, Jeff Goldblum and A$AP Rocky.  While we bow down to Heard, the other guys appear on the other four magazine covers.

1) Mera Rules!

Heard discusses filming Aquaman in Australia, “I have been enjoying the exhaustion that comes with having nothing but 16-hour days. With my head down, you know, in my spandex suit saving the world as one does. All I can say is I’m grateful for the work and the fact that I’m far away and removed from the drama that’s going on in Hollywood.”

GQ Australia’s Woman of the Year issue is on newsstands now.
