WGN America has announced the U.S. premiere date of the compelling Canadian drama, Bellevue, starring the amazing and charismatic Anna Paquin (X-Men). Audiences will be on the edge-of-their-seats watching the thrilling eight-episode arc, the one-hour crime/mystery drama produced by Muse Entertainment and Back Alley Film Productions.
As we previously mentioned, Bellevue happens to be a small town with big secrets. 20 years ago, the murder of a young woman traumatized the community. Has the killer returned? Now with a high school hockey star goes missing, all signs suddenly point out to foul play.

4) She’s Freaking Anna Paquin That’s Why!
After seven seasons on True Blood, audiences instantly fell in love with Anna Paquin as the tough and feisty Sookie Stackhouse. Not only does the Academy Award winner serve as executive producer, she also plays Detective Annie Ryder. Paquin describes Annie as “flawed. She has consequently lived a reckless life, but that also made her a very good cop.”

Jane Maggs brought Adrienne Mitchell, a principal owner and executive producer at Back Alley Film Productions, her script to the pilot and that as they say, history was made. The creators/showrunners added April Mullen (Wynonna Earp) and Kim Nguyen (War Witch) to direct a few episodes. Maggs explains the plot, “Bellevue is a small town mystery about the disappearance of a young teenager. It’s driven by a young female cop.”
