The midseason finale has arrived as AMC concludes the first half of Season 3 of Into The Badlands with Episode 8: Leopard Catches Cloud, starring Daniel Wu and Emily Beecham. Get ready for the visually striking fight sequences that action junkies already love about this show!
After leaving Lily’s boat, Bajie (Nick Frost) and Sunny (Wu) stumble onto Pilgrim’s camp site. While MK (Aramis Knight) attempts to teach Nix (Ella-Rae Smith) about her powers, he is suddenly distracted by Sunny’s appearance. All across the campsite, Sunny defends himself against MK, never realizing why they’re fighting.
Just when Sunny is about to be pummeled, Pilgrim (Babou Ceesay) strips MK of his dark energy and knocks him out. Pilgrim discovers Sunny has no memories of his past, nor of his missing sister. Pilgrim can harness the dark energy of his child, but he needs Sunny’s help.
Before their upcoming battle, Nathaniel Moon (Sherman Augustus) and Lydia (Orla Brady) spend the night together. Gaius (Lewis Tan) has a romantic night with the Widow (Beecham) before she plants a kiss on him. The night is for lovers only before they return to the raging battlefield.
Cressida (Lorraine Toussaint) discovers that Bajie was the one who reached out to them. History will remember Baijie’s name as the workers in the field discover the hatch. The hatch opens up to an underground laboratory that can siphon the dark energy and build an army for Pilgrim.
Sunny discovers why MK is after him and that he may have murdered his mother. Bajie is about to ruin Pilgrim’s plans after reading Cressida’s ancient scrolls. Thinking of his son, Sunny betrays Bajie and hands him over to the guards.
Nathaniel and Lydia find themselves fighting side-by-side in the battlefield. Just when Nathaniel is weakened and about to accept defeat, Lydia saves his life at the last second. Unfortunately, Lydia is wounded and pleased with Moon not to let her die.
The Widow joins Tilda (Ally Ioannides) and Giaus as they storm the palace. Separated from the others, just when the Widow finds herself cornered by the baron, she is all of a sudden saved.The Widow has a new mission now that the dark forces are rising.
Bajie is chained up as Sunny and Pilgrim start up the machines with their compasses.Sunny and Pilgrim place their hands on the chamber, ignition something dark and twisted. To complete the prophecy, Sunny hands his child over to Pilgrim.
After taking in the dark energy from Sunny’s child, Pilgrim has become even more powerful than he ever imagined.
Season 3 of Into the Badlands will return on AMC.
