The action builds as the cliff-hanging plot twists keep on coming, NBC continues Blindspot Season 3 with Episode 4: Gunplay Ricochet. Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) and Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) are back together solving the cases behind the mystery tattoos.
After a neighborhood bombing, Tasha (Audrey Esparza), Edgar Reade (Rob Brown), and Patterson (Ashley Johnson) attempt to solve another of the bioluminescent tattoos. FBI Director Eleanor Hirst (Mary Stuart Masterson) mentions the bombing is identical to a previous case, but the bomber was supposedly killed in action. They could either be dealing with a copycat or the original mad bomber.
Kurt and Jane bring Claire Dunn (Wendy Hoopes) in and interrogate her. Claire has known this entire time that her father, the original mad bomber, is still alive. She reveals that her father has a secret rendezvous for them to meet in case trouble shows up.
During Dunn’s stakeout, Jane spots someone she knew from her past, Rosmond Ott (Paul Guilfoyle). After arresting him, Rosmond doesn’t give up Dunn’s location, but he does share intimate moments from Jane’s past. Rosmond knows something about Jane that he really wants to tell her.
Now that Rossi has escaped custody, Reade and his team track down the location of Dunn’s secret hideout. At the hideout, the police accidentally trigger the decoy bomb. The explosion knocks everyone out, including Jane. Kurt is worried after seeing his wife wounded in the line of duty.
In the ongoing investigation of Stuart’s murder, Tasha suspects Assistant Secretary West has been messing around with the evidence. It’s up to Patterson after Dunn releases another manifesto. Patterson cracks the code and realizes Dunn has hidden a bomb in the basement of New York Metro University’s hospital.
After Reade shoots down the mad bomber, Kurt and Jane find themselves alone with the ticking time bomb. With a few seconds to spare, Kurt works his way through to cut the wires. Kurt and Jane find the danger kinky as they kiss.
Roman (Luke Mitchell) is actually at an auction, making a bid to build an expensive bracelet. He buys the bracelet to flirt with the auctioneer. Little does she know, Roman has put a tracking bug on the bracelet to spy on the auctioneer.
During the night, Zapata spots Reade getting into a car with Assistant Secretary West. Elsewhere, Jane and Roman receive a deadly message from Roman in their wedding video. The couple then receive a mysterious letter from Rosmond Ott.
In the letter, Rosamond reveals the medical documents that prove Jane has a daughter.
After the Thanksgiving break, Blindspot continues Fridays at 8m on NBC.
