An engaging family drama and action-packed thriller, Bloodshot Salvation #12 (Valiant Entertainment) delivers a memorable farewell for its gripping conclusion. Jeff Lemire’s run has come to a close with the latest Bloodshot arc and he surely has left an indelible stamp.

Bloodshot has traveled from the depths of the Deadside to the far-flung future of 4002 A.D. to save his daughter’s life…and spare her the murderous inheritance of the nanites that flow through both their veins. Now, stranded at the crossroads of the 41st century with one last mission between them and freedom, the question will finally be answered: Was it all for naught?

Here are 5 reasons why you should get Bloodshot Salvation #12:

5) What Happened Before…

As we previously mentioned, Bloodshot sought to undo by striking a demonic pact to save Baby Jessie’s life. In the underworld known as the Deadside, Bloodshot did the unthinkable to change her existence. As Bloodshot fights to returns home to his daughter, Jessie has not only become a pre-teen adolescent; she’s also a wanted fugitive by the government.

4) The Book Of Revelations!

Pushing the character arc to new territory, writer Jeff Lemire has interestingly changed Bloodshot’s mindset. Now that he has something to lose, Bloodshot is no longer a loner and has a family to protect. Letterer Simon Bowland bolds certain words in black to tighten the emotional impact.

3) The Artwork!

Artist Doug Braithwaite keeps the action flowing at a fast pace. Though Magic and Bloodshot are at different spots in the compound, they only have one things in mind; rescue Jessie. Bloodshot and Magic fight through a hail of bullets to save the little girl.

2) The Colors!

Red is such an important tone throughout the action-packed narrative. In a single page, colorist Jordie Bellaire presents Bloodshot and Magic under a red hue. Bloodshot’s red eyes are a bit darker to stand out in the panels.
