Following up the success of Titans, DC Universe continues the first season of Doom Patrol, with Episode 6: Doom Patrol Patrol, starring Matt Bomer and Brendan Fraser. Find out how this band of superhero weirdos teamed-up against the super villain known as Mr. Nobody (Alan Tudyk).
When we last left them, Eric Morden (Tudyk) had kidnapped The Chief (Timothy Dalton) from the team once again. Much to his father’s disapproval, Cyborg (Joivan Wade) joins the ragtag team to find Dr. Niles Caulder, but ends up losing his cybernetic arm. The team is able to save the world thanks to the Cult of the Re-Creator.
As Elasti-Girl (April Bowlby) mourns for Elliott (Ted Sutherland), she remembers a time when she slept with a sleazy producer. During their sexual encounter, Rita Farr turned into a giant blob and caused him to have a heart attack. The producer’s secretary covered up for Rita and allowed her to escape.
While Robotman aka Cliff Steele (Fraser) finds his daughter’s online account, Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero) reveals what Mr. Nobody told her. Mr. Nobody wants her to find the Doom Patrol. Elasti-Girl has heard of them because she slept with their leader, Steve Dayton aka Mento (Will Kemp); which was really a one-night stand.
Crazy Jane ends up teleporting Rita and Larry Trainor (Bomer) to Steve’s last known whereabouts. Crazy Jane ends up fighting with Arani (Jasmine Kaur) and Rhea (Lesa Wilson). Josh (Alimi Ballard) reveals they are at a school where they train metahumans to use their powers.
While Silas (Phil Morris) checks up on Cyborg (Joivan Wade)’s wounds, Robotman has a heart-to-heart talk with the father. Robotman advises Silas to ease up on his kid; at least he has one. At the school, Steve retells his last encounter with Mr. Nobody to Rita.
It turns our Mr. Nobody messed up the former Doom Patrol during their last battle. Mentally scarred, Steve unleashes his telepathic powers and turns the school into a house of horrors. Realizing the team is in danger, the Negative Spirit shows up and removes Steve’s helmet, removing the illusion of the school.
Josh reveals Steve has been using his powers to alter reality and give the former team a reason to live. This was a warning to Jane. This is what will happen if they continue to cross Mr. Nobody and look for Niles.
Back at Doom Manor, Rita removes the old memorabilia. She doesn’t want to haunted by ghosts of the past. Taking Robotman’s advice, Silas decides to let his son grow up and stay at the mansion.
While searching through his daughter’s pictures, Robotman trashes his laptop after realizing she grew up with her adoptive father.
Doom Patrol continues Fridays on DC Universe.
