Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the second official trailer to the highly anticipated The Girl In The Spider’s Web starring Claire Foy. In an all-new action packed setup, Director Fede Álvarez (Don’t Breathe) re-imagines the popular characters from the bestselling novels by author Stieg Larsson.

A continuation of the Millennium series, the first installment written by David Lagercrantz,  computer hacker Lisbeth Salander and journalist Mikael Blomkvist find themselves caught in a web of spies, cyber criminals, and corrupt government officials.

Here are 5 reasons why we love Claire Foy in The Girl In The Spider’s Web:

5) More Action!

Impressively, the first teaser felt like a short film, presenting Lisbeth’s motivations are and why she’s attacking the screaming man. Lisbeth sees herself as an avenging angel in costume and makeup as she hunts down evil men who prey on women. This second trailer aims more for action than mystery and atmosphere.

4) Emmy Winner!

With much applause, Foy won for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the recent Emmys. The award goes for playing Queen Elizabeth II in her hit Netflix series, The Crown! I can’t wait to see her as Lisbeth Salander, who has been backstabbed and is on the move.

3) Where’s Mikael?

I feel like Sverrir Gudnason (Borg vs McEnroe) is being kept in the sidelines. I really want to see his interpretation as investigative reporter Mikael Blomkvist. In the novels, Mikael Blomkvist is more of the straight man to Lisbeth’s craziness, and he’s kinda boring because of that.

2) The Next Trilogy!

If you read the novel, then book lovers are already this installment takes place after The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest. Before passing away, author Stieg Larsson has plans for the next three installments. I wonder if Spider’s Web will feel like a first installment or a standalone?

1) Among Legends!

Rooney Mara played the lead character in David Fincher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Noomi Rapace originally took on the role in the original Swedish Dragon Tattoo trilogy. Already excited by this second trailer, I can’t wait to see what Foy does in her own interpretation!

The Girl In The Spider’s Web arrives in theaters on November 9th, 2018.
