Marvel Studios has released the highly anticipated official trailer to Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson and Jude Law. Directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Half Nelson) present the origin of Carol Danvers before she became the most powerful Marvel Comics superhero.

Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) gets caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

[Spoilers] Here are 5 reasons why we love the official trailer to Captain Marvel:

5) Infinity War!

In the post-credits scene of Infinity War, Nick Fury [Samuel L. Jackson] was holding a hi-tech looking pager. Before disappearing from Thanos’ snap, Fury was sending out a message to his secret weapon. That was the Captain Marvel logo that appeared on-screen.

4) Blockbuster Video!

In a hilarious homage to The Terminator, Captain Marvel crash-lands into a store, specifically Blockbuster video. She’s out of her own timeline and hasn’t been to Earth in awhile. Welcome to the 90s, where everybody is their younger self, including Fury and Phillip Coulsen(Clark Gregg)!

3) The Skrulls!

In Marvel continuity, The Skrulls are a race of extraterrestrial shape-shifters. The Skrulls are hell-bent on invading Earth, which is probably why Carol is hanging upside-down and being tortured. They have been at war with another extraterrestrial race, known as the Kree.

2) Grandma!

Which probably explains why Captain Marvel is punching out that old lady on the bus. Captain Marvel can actually see a true Skrull, when they’re in disguise. Is a Skrull responsible for the loss of Furry’s eye and the reason why he cannot trust anyone?

1) Outer-Space!

Would you accept going into the outer-space and leaving home if it meant being by Jude Law’s side? Damn right I would! We actually get a glimpse of Law as the enigmatic Mar-Vell – the first ever Captain Marvel.
