ComicMix will be celebrating the 100 years of important work with a graphic novel, Mine!, A Comics Collection To Benefit Planned Parenthood. A-list names contributing to the must-read collection are Neil Gaiman (American Gods), Jill Thompson (Beasts of Burden), Yona Harvey (World of Wakanda), Gail Simone (Batgirl) , and Gerard Way (Doom Patrol).

Planned Parenthood has been the nation’s leading provider and advocate of high-quality, affordable health care for women, men, and young people. As the nation’s largest provider of sex education, Planned Parenthood organizations serve all patients with care and compassion, with respect and without any judgment. During these tough times, we need people who care passionately about helping others lead healthier lives.

Here are 5 reasons why we’re excited for Mine! on Kickstarter:

5) The List Of Top Names!

The volume of short stories will be edited by Joe Corallo and Molly Jackson. The list includes Gabby Rivera (America), Amber Benson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Mara Wilson (Where Am I Now?: True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame), Mags Visaggio (Kim & Kim), Andrew Aydin (March), Frank Conniff (Mystery Science Theater 3000), Yuri Lowenthal (Ben 10), Brittney Williams (Patsy Walker A.K.A. Hellcat!), John Ostrander (Suicide Squad).

4) For A Great Cause!

Project Co-Editor Molly Jackson said, “Planned Parenthood is a vital resource for women and men from all walks of life, providing needed health care and support to millions of people all over the world. We are proud to do whatever we can to bring attention to their amazing work.”

3) A Community Comes Together!

Co-Editor Joe Corallo said, “The comics community is built on freelance labor that relies on the kind of access to healthcare that Planned Parenthood provides. We’re thrilled to see such a diverse group of people in the comics community coming together to support this essential cause.”

2) The Rewards!

From the list of rewards, my favorite in the list is ComicMix Pro Services Package. The package inclides a portfolio review with up to an hour of feedback from Mike Gold, founder of First Comics and former DC Comics Group Editor.

1) Prevent Defunding!

Mine!, A Comics Collection To Benefit Planned Parenthood will be available in bookstores, comic book shops, and electronically sometime in the fall.
