‘Suits’ Recap: Season 7, Episode 5 ‘Brooklyn Housing’

USA Network continues Season 7 with Episode 5, entitled Brooklyn Housing, of their popular lawyer drama, Suits, starring Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht. The slick lawyers Mike Ross and Harvey Specter, are back and ready to take on any court case.

Harvey Specter (Macht) is asked for legal advice by his former therapist, Dr. Paula Agard (Christina Cole). Because she needs a litigator, Harvey asks for a favor from Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman). Louis accepts her case but he needs to be sure Harvey has been dating Paula after a waiting period. 

Mike Ross (Adams) continues to work secretly on his previous pro bono case. After discovering the prison guards have been responsible for the deaths of numerous inmates, Harvey has been spending more time at the clinic with Oliver. Unfortunately, Mike’s time at the clinic conflicts when Harvey actually needs him. In order to get Frank Gallo (Paul Schulze)’s testimony against the prison, Mike has bring the money upfront.

Louis discovers Paula is in a lawsuit against her former ex and business partner. Knowing that Harvey is dating Paula, her ex threatens to blackmail their relationship to the board, proving it’s unethical. After getting blindsided, Louis needs to know the whole truth from Paula before going any further.

It turns out Paula was cheated on by her former ex. Explaining to his therapist, Harvey empathizes with her ex, because their situation is too similar. Getting over his emotions, Harvey proves the ex has been stalking Paula and hired a private investigator to follow her.

Harvey is working a case where one company stole a product from the other. In order to prove the company stole, Harvey needs to hire a former headhunter, after he previously ruined her business. In order to get the info, the headhunter asks for an office at his firm.

Donna Paulson (Sarah Rafferty) isn’t happy with the deal Harvey made with the headhunter. She has a one-on-one meeting with the headhunter, who has completed Harvey’s task. Even though she proves to be great at her job, she doesn’t want to work for Harvey after meeting Donna.

After Harvey asks for Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle) for Mike’s whereabouts, she discovers Mike has been lying to her. She believes Harvey should fire him because Mike broke his trust and lied to him. Even though Mike’s intentions are noble, he’s actually damaging his relationship with Harvey.     

Suits continues on USA Network Wednesdays at 9pm.
