After the fallout from Faye Richardson (Denise Cosby), Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) has a major life decision to make. Either resign as Managing Partner or take another job offer. Meanwhile, Harvey (Macht) seeks out a case Faye can’t be part of.
Samantha (Katherine Heigl) might have come up with a solution, that enables her to cross a line. Lucky for her, Alex (Dulé Hill) is on her side. Elsewhere, Donna (Sarah Rafferty) struggles making date night into safe haven, where their work won’t invade their personal life.
Harvey decides to use his leverage get Kevin Miller to buy the company and hire back his client, with Faye’s old firm remaining its counsel. As a favor, Harvey wants Faye to give Louis back his secretary, Gretchen. Faye refuses to let Harvey extort her, but she does thinks she’s doing a better job at handling him.
Samantha has’t been the same since Robert left. Alex invites her over for a family dinner.The dinner reminds Samantha that the people in the firm are the closest thing she has to a family. Samantha now realizes that she wants to find out who her biological parents are.
Sheila (Rachael Harris) tries to console Louis after he loses his managing partner. She reminds him that he didn’t really want it in the first place. While thinking about possibly taking the job offer, Louis has a nightmare about Faye.
Louis then need advice with Dr. Lipschitz (Ray Proscia) about what his nightmare meant. He doesn’t want to leave them. But when Louis tries to butt into Donna and Harvey’s romantic get-together, they ignore him.
As Susan (Alison Louder) becomes Katrina’s (Amanda Schull) next associate, she makes a mess of things with their case.As the two butt heads over settlement, Susan accuses Katrina of buying Brian’s silence and threatens to to sequel to Faye.
After getting advice from Samantha, Katrina tells Faye that the associate owned up to a mistake she made. Faye jokes that there some people at the firm who aren’t corrupted. Katrina reminds Susan that ambition is not a bad thing; it can’t be everything though.
The next day, Louis tells Harvey he’s about taking the new job. Harvey wasn’t trying to hurt Louis’ feelings and apologizes. Harvey understands if Louis needs to take the job, but he doesn’t want Faye to pull them apart.
In the end, Louis decides to stay at the firm .
