USA Network continues the final Season 9 of Suits, starring Gabriel Macht and Katherine Heigl, with Episode 8: Prisoner’s Dilemma. Find out how Harvey Specter (Macht) and Samantha Wheeler (Heigl) deal with the consequences with Robert Zane leaving.
Shawn Cahill (Neal McDonough) warns Harvey that he has been arrested and needs him to be his lawyer. Meanwhile, Donna (Sarah Rafferty) knows Andy Malick is coming after them with incriminating evidence. Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) meets with his sister, Ester (Amy Acker), who reveals a time she was sexually assaulted.
Andy isn’t pleased that Harvey is representing Shawn. Louis needs Katrina (Amanda Schull) to help him stop the merger. With Faye (Denise Crosby) getting involved in Harvey’s case, Louis makes a threat to the man who assaulted his sister. While Alex (Dule Hill) senses something wrong with the case, Harvey tries to figure out where Malick got his proof.
With Donna bringing in new information, Harvey makes a surprise visit to the prison. With the truth being twisted, Ester argues with Louis about revealing the truth and takes him off the case. At the prison, Charles (Eric Roberts) reveals how he learned the truth about Harvey and Shawn, admitting he set the whole thing up.
While Shawn makes a few deals and connects with a contact, Donna meets with Malick and warms him to end their vendetta. With Ester feeling powerless, Katrina advises Louis a different way to stop the merger. Louis meets with Samantha, recounts what happened with his sister, and asks her to takes this assaulter down.
After Ester and Louis reconcile, Malick orders the police officers to arrest Harvey. In the interrogation room, Harvey learns Shawn has been arrested and might actually cave. As Donna senses something wrong, Malick is pushing hard on the two to get them to squeal. Unfortunately, Alex is too late to save the day.
Seeking redemption for losing a similar assault case, Katrina wants to get involved with Samantha. With a plan, Samantha and Harvey go after the lawyers who worked out the nondisclosure deals with the assault victims. Harvey punches out Shawn for taking Malick’s deal. Donna argues with Faye as she hides behind morality, mentioning how Harvey covered up for her.
Alex discovers proof that Malick was actually selling lies. Katrina meets with Ester to convince her to reveal what happened; time is running out. Sitting in Malick’s seat, Harvey has proof that Andy conspired with a criminal and fabricated evidence.
Ester comes forward and confronts the pig who assaulted her. Harvey confronts Charles because he perjured himself, which gets his prison sentence extended. Louis wants to be married with Sheila before the baby is born.
Donna reveals to Harvey that his mother passed away after having a heart attack.
