USA Network continues the final Season 9 of Suits, starring Gabriel Macht and Katherine Heigl, with Episode 9: Thunder Away. Find out how Harvey Specter (Macht) and Samantha Wheeler (Heigl) deal with the consequences with Robert Zane leaving.
Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) pays a surprise visit to help out Harvey after his mother’s death. Gretchen and Katrina (Amanda Schull) share a heart to heart talk. Samatha and Mike sue Faye (Denise Crosby) for unlawful termination, promising a day in court. Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) and Harvey will have to represent Faye in court if they want her to leave.
Donna (Sarah Rafferty) and Alex (Dule Hill) wonder how they can help without Faye knowing their involvement. Using his memorization skills, Mike is able to get rid of Harvey’s dismissal and gets the judge to hurry up their day in court. While Samantha refuses to settle, Donna promises to hurt Faye if she does something.
After Mike decides to counter Harvey’s deal, Harvey wants Faye to make the stand. Alex discovers Faye has done something dirty in the past. Asking for help, Mike pays a visit to Katrina to find out what Harvey is hiding. At the mock trial, Harvey dives into Faye’s past and makes a mockery out of her.
Faye is still furious about the hit-job that Harvey and Louis conducted. Trying to keep her from being disbarred, Mike and Samantha are arguing about her future. Before talking about strategy, Louis thanks Harvey for calling him the best partner he ever had.
Louis realizes he has to be mean in front of Samantha and make the jury hate her. Samantha pays a visit to Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce), asking him to be in her corner. Harvey reads the letter his mother left for him, leaving his grandmother’s ring for him.
In the courtroom, Louis pushes Samantha to a breaking point before excusing himself. Louis has to face the consequences from Katrina, wishing he could tell her the truth. The following day, Samantha interrogates Faye and embarrasses in front of the jury.
Now Harvey and Louis have to prove that Samantha crossed the line. Unleashing his anger, Harvey yells at Amanda for ruining his game plan. Harvey may not have Mike, but he has Louis by his side. Donna tells Mike that Harvey is in a bad place and needs his help.
Faye ends up firing Katrina as Mike and Harvey have a drink. Harvey hands over a subpoena to tell Mike that he’s taking the witness stand.
