Jaguar Cinema and Throughline Films have released the terrifying trailer to their supernatural thriller, The Dawn, starring Devanny Pinn and Stacey Dash. After world-building his sci-fi flick, Crossbreed, co-writer/director Brandon Slagle aims for scares in his tenth feature film.

According to Joblo, a young woman who witnesses her father murder her family in the wake of World War 1. Sent to live in a convent, she dedicates her life to the Lord. However, her demons follow and manifest themselves in ways which bring the nightmares of her past with her.

Here are 5 reasons we love the trailer to The Dawn:

5) The Poster!

In the poster made by artist Devanny Pinn, notice how the theme of duality is perfectly represented. Half of the skin color looks normal, while the other half looks cracked and grayish. I love how there is only one eye open and it’s oozing blood! (Yeesh!)

4) The Scares!

The moody trailer does a fantastic job setting up the snowy setting and the gothic church environment. As the ticking continues in the background, what the hell is spewing out of her mouth!?! There’s something really creepy about the hand with giant fingers.

3) Crossbreed!

I love that this is a Crossbreed reunion with Director Brandon Slagle and Devanny Pinn! In an exclusive interview with Villain Media, Slagle discussed how Pinn created a must-see performance underneath all that makeup and having no dialogue as the alien creature, Crossbreed. I can’t wait to see what Pinn does here in The Dawn as Ella.

2) The Costumes!

The horror flick is executive produced by J. Spencer, James C. Ward, Chris Morganelli, Gigi and Jeff Jankowski, Chris Charles and John W. Bosher. I love the suspense in the trailer and kudos to everyone for putting together a period piece.
